Article Summary

What Are Healing Crystals And How Does It Help My Cats & Dogs?

Healing Crystals are stones that hold healing properties that benefit both animals and humans.

Different healing crystals are able to radiate different types of healing energies that improve and restore the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual state of an animal.

Many of these Healing Crystals are able to help with respiratory, circulatory, and digestive problems.

Many animals go through emotional trauma, whether it be physical or mental. Healing crystals are able to help these animals calm down and learn to live a happier and less stressful life.

Animals are more sensitive to the earth’s vibrations, which allows them to detect natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis.

This ability in animals allows them to utilize the vibrational energies within healing crystals which allow them to maximize the healing aura that they receive from these crystals.

What Are Soft & Hard Healing Crystals?

In 1812, Friedrich Mohs, a German mineralogist, developed a scale to determine the “hardness” of a stone or crystal.

This scale was to essentially measure a mineral’s ability to scratch another mineral.

For example, the stone Talc is very soft, almost like chalk, hence why it is labeled 1 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Diamond on the other hand is the hardest mineral known to humankind hence why it is labeled 10 on the Mohs hardness scale.

Depending on the “hardness” of a healing crystal determines how you can properly clean it without damaging the stone.

How To Cleanse & Care For My Healing Crystals To Help My Cats & Dogs?

Certain healing crystals can be cleansed under running water or saltwater while others can't.

Some healing crystals and stones can be left to sit under the sun, while others certainly cannot.

As mentioned above, stones and crystals can be categorized for their hardness using the Mohs hardness scale.

Anything from 1-6 is considered a soft stone on the hardness scale.

Soft stones and healing crystals should never be cleansed using water. Many of these soft stones are too brittle to be left under running water or even salt water.

They may dissolve or even crack. Instead, use a soft cloth and rub in a circular motion to remove any dirt or fingerprints.

Some examples of healing crystals that shouldn’t be exposed to water are Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Opal, Fluorite, and Amber.

Hard stones and healing crystals on the other hand can be cleansed using water.

It may also be a great idea to bathe the stone in saltwater for a good amount of time as it will loosen the debris and dirt.

Eyeglass cloth is a great material to use to polish the healing crystal to remove oils and fingerprints.

Some healing crystals and stones can fade if put under the sun for too long. Refer to this list to see if your healing crystal can be cleansed using the sun.

How To Cleanse & Charge My Healing Crystals To Help My Cats & Dogs?

Here are some of the safest ways to cleanse your healing crystal.

  • Smoke (Smudging) - Smudging is a traditional process to purify and cleanse a person, place or object.

  • Sound (Tibetan bowls, tuning forks, binary sounds, bells, vocal tuning) - This method allows you to cleanse all your crystals at once. The vibrational sound waves allow the healing crystal to absorb the spiritual properties.

  • Water (Refer to the Mohs hardness scale) - Healing Crystals that can go underwater can be placed in a container for anywhere between an hour to 24 hours. Saltwater is also a great option.

  • Reiki - If you are a reiki master, giving it Reiki can help cleanse and charge it.

  • Sunlight (Refer to earlier list) - Sunlight is another great way to cleanse and charge the healing crystals. Keep in mind some healing crystals will fade under the sun.

We don't recommend submerging Merci Collective products into water as many of our products are made with Cactus Leather. Instead, use other techniques mentioned above to cleanse and charge your healing crystals.

How Do I Program & Activate My Healing Crystals For My Cats & Dogs?

crystal healing smudging

To program a healing crystal, first, choose what crystal you would like to use and for what purpose.

For example, if you have a cat or dog experiencing separation anxiety, work with a black obsidian crystal.

Hold the Black Obsidian healing crystal to your heart for a few seconds, then move it to your third eye.

Stay focused, with a clear mind, and imagine the task or emotion projected into the black obsidian.

Imagine this until your heart, mind, and healing feel linked together. To finalize your healing crystal programming, state your task aloud.

It is important to choose the right healing crystal as you are harnessing the energy of the healing crystal rather than forcing something onto it.
